How To Create A Sun-Ray Effect In Adobe InDesign, FREE video tutorial by Solopress.

In this episode we show you just how easy it is to create a Sun-Ray effect in Adobe InDesign using basic tools so anyone at any level can design alongside us.

Transcript:

Ok, so start off by opening a new document, Ok we go over to the tools layer and get the ellipse tool, open up the ellipse tool, create a circle, then go to type and hit the dashed line.

Ok now we want to set the weight to around the highest one…90pt; and here you’ll see these big thick lines that we need to get rid of. Ok so you go to type, oh yeah, these align strokes mean, where the strokes are placed, in the middle, inside or outside.

Ok so we go to corners and then to none and that gets rid of all the thick lines. Ok then we go to the weight, add a bit more on the weight… there we go, I’m just making it all the way until the black goes.

We need to get rid of the thick line at the bottom, so we go to dash, and just go up and down on the keys, until you’re happy with how it looks.

OK then we go over to the scale, then duplicate that and move that into position, now we’ll just go over to the colour, make it a bit more nicer, that a bit better.

And then we’ll go down to the gap colour and click on the yellow.

And there you have it, a retro light ray or a retro background.
