Today, we’ll have a look at WireframeSketcher. First, I would like to say that I got a free lifetime license for this tool for making a review of it. I did not get a license for making a positive review, though – which is exactly what this turned out to be!

WireframeSketcher is THE mockup tool for me. I’ve used various online ones and they did pay the bill of being free-to-try or limited to 1 user and 3 projects. However, none of them had the feature set you can find in WireframeSketcher.

It has everything you would expect from a wireframing tool – library of common components (browser, input boxes, dropdowns, icons etc.), a canvas to infinitely place those on and properties for each of those components.

What’s superb from my point of view is for one the granularity of these components and their options. Things like a set of default icons or a right-positioned scrollbar on the browser component for which you can set where it will be scrolled – that’s a sense for details I’ve not seen in any other wireframing program yet.

Another great idea are custom components made from a set of existing components, including their values (like text for a text area or tabs). You can simply group some components and save them as a single component along with any setting you have in them. And you’re still free to actually change size of the resulting new component in various places individually.

You can also utilize pre-existing library of mockups for Android and iOS devices and some more ones that were either contributed to the project by the community or were created by the author.
